Web Design & Digital Marketing
I love web development. These days websites often make the first impression consumers have when they view a business. They provide information like product details, operating hours and store locations that allow consumers to make educated decisions when purchasing goods. They can also have e-commerce capabilities which can level the playing field for small and large businesses alike. Taking my design and marketing background and extending it into web development has allowed me to design websites that do everything mentioned above but also solve problems and position a business for growth. Below are examples of websites I have developed throughout my career.
Creating a website for a start up non-profit is an exciting thing. Starting from nothing, I identified what role the website would play for Sweet Cheeks and how it would aid their exciting opportunity. After researching how successful diaper banks ran their operations, it was decided that this web develpoment project would have to include two functions. First, educating the public on diaper need in the Cincinnati area would be paramount to sparking the movement. Hosting information on diaper need, poverty rates, and a diaper drive tool kit provided the community with everything they needed to be informed and help out. Secondly, the website functioned as a portal for social service agencies to register children in need to receive diapers. They use our database to log and track diaper
Updating The Kirby Company website was my number one priority when I first started there. Their e-commerce presence was lacking, had no distributor search mechanism, and didn’t position the brand properly. I first made sure the host was set up properly. Next, I created a new process involving our IT and Contracts departments allowing the website to stay up-to-date with our worldwide distributor channel. I synced these distributor’s locations with Google Maps allowing visitors to easily search for their local Kirby distributor. Our team took new product images and redesigned the shopping experience to optimize for mobile. This project pushed my SEO skills to the test as I studied every single headline, alt tag, page title to increase traffic and conversions.
KirbyDistNet.com was an existing site that I inherited when joining The Kirby Company. The site was used to update contest sales data, distribute important legal documents but I knew it could be so much more. Flash forward to today, users on the site have more than doubled, I added e-commerce and a robust backend that allowed me to show specific content based on the logged in user. e
Building off Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank’s success, Tidal Babe Period Bank was borne out of necessity. Since period supplies were not covered by any social program, Tidal Babe filled that gap and began donating period supply kits within the Cincinnati community.
In 1914, The Scott Fetzer Company began as a machine shop in Cleveland, OH founded by George Scott and Carl Fetzer. Shortly after, inventor Jim Kirby, also from Cleveland, partnered with the businessmen to produce the first Kirby vacuum cleaner. The Kirby Company remained the company’s mainstay product until the 1960s when it began a program of expansion and acquisition. Today, Scott Fetzer is a diversified manufacturer and marketer of high-quality products for the home, family, and industry comprised of more than 20 brands.
COVERD Greater Cincinnati is the umbrella company for Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank and Tidal Babe Period Bank. The idea was that while we have blown away any expectation in Cincinnati, the need to address these issues was prevalent across the nation. With multiple brands within the COVERD portfolio, we can expand our services into new cities while still creating consistency and awareness with our message.
Building off my previous success in the non-profit world, PDX Diaper Bank reached out to me after seeing Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank’s website. Having already wrapped my head around what a diaper bank is, I was able to hit the ground running. I developed this site on a staging site allowing their existing site to remain intact until I was finished. In the end, the final product elevated their website and repositioned their brand for huge growth!

This was a fun project. I got connected with the director of this film through a friend and we immediately were on the same page. He needed a simple yet stylish website to promote his upcoming film.
This was my first political website for a friend from high school. While I didn’t have much background in politics, I was able to offer up my services to increase her reach online, maintain a consistent brand, and start collecting donations and volunteer sign-ups through an easy to use WordPress site.
